SUMMARY:November Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Gary W. Deiters\nOwner & Director\nGary Deiters Funeral Home\nwill present \nSymbols of Remembrance:\nThe Meaning Behind Grave Markers \nThis program explores the rich symbolism found on historic gravestones and monuments.  From religious emblems and fraternal insignia to flowers\, animals\, and other decorative motifs\, these markers reveal stories about the beliefs\, values\, occupations\, and lives of those they commemorate.  This presentation examines the meanings behind common cemetery symbols and offers insights into the history and traditions of memorial art. \nAbout Gary: Gary has been a funeral director for over 35 years. He has spent a lot of time in cemeteries and has been curious about the meanings and symbols used over the years.  Gary started Deiters Funeral Home in Washington\, and East Peoria.  He opened the first privately owned Crematory and also started Deiters Pet services.  Gary is now the owner of Gary Deiters Funeral Home and Cremation Services in East Peoria. \nBusiness meeting & 2027 officer election will be held after the presentation.
