Jacob & Elizabeth Fischer
Jacob Fischer and Elizabeth Weisman were married 26 February 1891 at the Sand Prairie Lutheran Church in Sand Prairie Township, Tazewell County, Illinois.
Jacob had come to America from Germany and would be declared a naturalized citizen at the Tazewell County Courthouse in Pekin on 7 November 1892.
Jacob and Elizabeth farmed all their married life in Elm Grove Township.
Jacob and Elizabeth raised five children: John, George, Anna, Edward and Laura. Laura died at the young age of twelve from spinal meningitis. Their son, John, farmed the land after Jacob's death in 1918 until about 1941.
The Fischer's wedding photograph was taken by pioneering photographer H. H. Cole.

Laura died January 23, 1920. This photo was taken not too long before her death - I would guess the latter part of 1919.
After the children all left home they all remained in the Pekin area until their deaths.
John Fischer was my father. All of the people in this photo are now deceased.
Anna lived the longest. She was 96 years of age and died February 11, 1994 on her farm near Dillon, IL.
