Many families either donate their Tazewell County family photographs to our Society or allow us to copy them. Unfortunately, many of these photographs are undated with unnamed persons taken at an unknown location.
We will be publishing one or two of these Mystery photographs each month in The Monthly newsletter and on our website. All additional details we have will accompany each photo. Click on a photo to see it full-size! The most recent postings will be at the top.
Please contact us, even if you are not 100% sure of your information—sometimes a tiny tidbit can lead to big results! Thanks for your help!
Taken about 1933 by Corn Product employees Schuyler Brush & Lloyd Hannah.
Edward E. Hayes is in the 2nd row, five from the left. We’re told that Everett Ball (foreman), Everett's son, Jack Nau, and Arlan Booth
are also pictured but their position is unknown. Please let us know if you can identify anyone else in the image.
Remaining names are not in order of their seating: Harold Black, Bernie Black, Carrie Potts, Winifred Dix, John Lingle, Hershall Howel, Lorane Black, Seth Parker, Lucille Bowler, Walter Jeston, Orville Chapman, Paul Watts, Flossie Champion, Lidia Shafer, and Ruth Latham.
There are more students than names. Can you match anyone with their name?
Florence (Hayes) Dillon is in the back row, 5th from the left
George Chapman is the boy at far left of the first row.
We have some other names, but are not sure if they follow L-R arrangement.
Other surnames are mostly Green Valley names. Can you identify anyone?
Identified!! Click here for more details
(L to R): Unknown Girl, Teddy (Theodore) Wagner, Oliver Wagner (standing), Mabel Wagner. The parents of the Wagner children were Washington and Matilda (Blumenshine) Wagner of Washington, Illinois. The unidentified girl does not appear in any census with the family. Matilda's 1957 obituary lists a “Mrs. Ha Look of Pekin who lived with the Wagner's as a girl.” Is Mrs. Look the "unknown girl"?
