Pekin “Townsite”

Depicts 1824 view of the future Pekin “Townsite” from the Illinois River.  Located at the foot of present day Broadway Street.

At the left  is a Pottawatomie native american village – at the right, is first settler  Jacob Tharp’s cabin.
