This beautiful school was on Broadway, bordered by Eighth and Ninth Streets, facing south to Broadway and James Field. The school was known as Pekin High School (1916-1921), Pekin Community High School (1922-1998), and also as West Campus (1964-1998).”
Despite the valiant efforts of many folks (including our Society) to save this historic landmark building, the 98 year-old Pekin Community High School West Campus sadly succumbed to the wrecking ball in 2014. As a memento to remember the building, the Tazewell County Genealogical & Historical has proudly created a souvenir shelf sitter depicting the front of the West Campus.
