Since December 1978, Tazewell County Genealogical & Historical Society has issued a monthly member newsletter—aptly named The Monthly.
The Monthly is filled with Tazewell County historical and genealogical articles, documents, and pictures as well as information on Society special events, monthly meetings, and projects.
Prior to 2007, The Monthly was printed and mailed each month to every member as one of the benefits of their membership. Starting in 2007, members had the option to receive The Monthly electronically as a searchable Adobe Acrobat PDF file instead of a printed & mailed version.
Back issues are available for each publication year (12 issues).
In order to minimize storage space, our long term goal is to digitize all back issues of The Monthly. See above for current availability of years in which format.
Note: Each year, the January issue of The Monthly contains a surname index to the previous year’s issues.
