Dully Family History

Member Werner Gertberg of Moosburg, Germany has written an extensive family history, fully titled About the DULLY family in Central Europe and USA - Ancestors, Descendants, and Relatives of Anna Maria Eva DULLY, living 1797-1855 in Palatinate. This work deals mainly with Anna Maria Eva DULLY and four generations of her descendants, including parts of five generations of USA relatives

This family history was compiled in remembrance of the arrival of Christian DULLY (Anna Maria's son) & Katharina FRÖHLICH on 16 April 1867 at New York, 150 years ago before eventually arriving in Tazewell County (see photo above).

Werner has graciously placed his 437 page 29.99 MB book on our website as a searchable Adobe Acrobat PDF file you can download for free. Last updated in February 2021.

Various sources were accessed such as family documents, literature, obits (mainly from the Pekin Daily Times newspaper), information of family researchers, archives research, and Internet research. The data quality varies, so some data may not be correct and there are still question marks about a few family lines.

(Note: The Palatinate, historically also known as Rhenish Palatinate, is a region in southwestern Germany. It currently occupies roughly the southernmost quarter of the German federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate, covering an area of 5,451 square kilometers with about 1.4 million inhabitants. Its residents are known as Palatines. Many more Palatines emigrated in the course of the 19th century than from any other area of Germany—the great majority of them to North America, so that in the US temporarily “Palatine” was a common designation for any German American.}
