More Details
Before the advent of the Internet, one of the main sources of community news was the local newspaper. It was not uncommon for folks to keep clippings of newspaper articles of interest as a hobby. Some folks specialized in just one or two subjects such as Military, Birth Notices, Reunions, Generational photos, Child photos, etc.
Tazewell County Genealogical & Historical Society has collected clippings since the Society’s inception in 1978. Other collections have been donated over the years.
Although some obituaries may be listed in these collection, please be aware we also have a large obituary collection that is not currently indexed online. Here’s more information about how to access our obit collection.
